Warkworth Riders - TTT training sessions from Whanga Eats Cafe

On the 2nd Sunday of each month some of our WWR whanau gather at Whanga Eats Cafe [Matakana Valley Rd] for an unofficial handicapped "training" session together in groups of 3-5 riders - the next one is on 14 Sept - TTT#5.

It's 40 kms of flattish quiet rural roads [20 kms out & back] with the odd one-way bridge to safely navigate plus some milking shed crossings [very tastey !]

We have between 20-30 riders turn up - ages range from sprightly 74 years young down to an even younger and friskier 17 years [Gordy and his GMC crew sometimes turn up - he's won our "kudos" trophy twice so far, busted the 60 mins time barrier and earned fastest times/Strava KOMs]

For some reason everyone seems to have miles of smiles on their faces and enjoy lots of banter and reflection over coffee and kai after the prize giving.

It's also perfect training for P4P which will be held on the Saturday just before our TTT#6 on Sunday 12 October.
