This year I am taking on Hampton Downs in Pedal4Prostate
Last year I had hoped to complete this ride to mark five years since my dad passed away, but unfortunately I wasn't able to. This year feels even more significant. It marks six years since we lost him and what would have been his 80th year.
I'm riding Pedal 4 Prostate in Dad's memory and in support of a cause he was incredibly passionate about. I'll never forget how proud we all were when he completed this event the year before he died. Looking back at the photos from that day, I don't just see my dad on a bike—I see the strength, courage and determination that defined the man he was.
He continues to inspire me every day, and I hope that by taking on this ride in his honour, I can help raise awareness and support for a cause that meant so much to him.
This ride is for you, Dad. Always remembered, always loved. ❤️💙

Friday 14th AugPedal4 Prostate – Riding in Dad’s Memory
In 2020, we said goodbye to my dad after his courageous nine-year battle with prostate cancer.
Six years on, I still miss him every day. There are so many moments when I wish he was here to share in the milestones, the laughs, the challenges and the adventures. But while Dad is no longer here, his legacy continues.
That is why I ride in Pedal4 Prostate.
For me, this ride is about much more than getting on my bike and completing the kilometres. It is about riding in Dad’s memory, honouring the man he was, and continuing something he believed strongly in — getting the message out there about prostate cancer.
Dad was incredibly proud to take part in Pedal4 Prostate himself, and I will never forget seeing him ride. He was an inspiration, and seeing those photos of him on his bike reminds me just how important this cause was to him.
Prostate cancer can affect so many families, yet too many men put off getting checked or talking about their health. Early detection can make such an important difference, and I want to help keep that conversation going.
So, I’m getting back on the bike and riding for Dad.
Every kilometre will be for him. Every donation will help support the work being done to raise awareness, provide support and make a difference for men and their families affected by prostate cancer.
This is my way of keeping Dad’s memory alive and continuing his legacy.
For Dad. For the men we love. For the families who stand beside them. And for a future where prostate cancer is detected early and more men get to come home.
