BLUE WALK ROTORUA

BLUE WALK ROTORUA

The Annual Blue Walk Rotorua

The fundraising is to help to fight prostate cancer, the number one cancer effecting Kiwi Men. Every year more than 4,000 Kiwi men are diagnosed and around 700 die.

All these men deserve to live their best life, and hundreds of families do not deserve to have their loved one taken away too soon. It would be awesome if you could help too by donating to help us reach our fundraising target. And above all raise Awareness of the importance for MEN GETTING CHECKED.

Pedaling for Prostate

Pedaling for Prostate

My name is Tom Holland, a former professional mountain biker, businessman, and dedicated Rotarian. Twenty years ago, I embarked on a 12-hour wind trainer ride to raise funds to represent my country at the world MTB championships in Europe. Today, I have accepted the challenge of participating in the Whaka100, a grueling 100km mountain bike marathon event set to take place in October 2025. This event is renowned as one of the toughest one-day MTB marathons in the southern hemisphere.

My motivation for taking on this challenge is deeply personal. My father is a prostate cancer survivor, and I have lost both extended family and friends to prostate cancer. I have now reached an age where medical check-ups have become more thorough, so my participation in this mountain bike event is to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer.

In collaboration with Rotary Passport Rotorua, our goal is to raise $5,000 by the time the Whaka100 event takes place on October 26th, 2025.

In the months leading up to the event, I will be sharing my progress on my LinkedIn page www.linkedin.com/in/jascotomholland, so check-in on a regular basis for training and progress updates.  All donations are greatly appreciated no matter how small, but for business donations of $500 or more, I will proudly wear your business logo on my race gear on the day of the event.
