I'm fundraising for a great cause!
I have signed up for the Catering Trail Ultra marathon in Scotland in May, and thought it would be a good chance to do some fundraising for a charity that is close to many Kiwis. The foundation I will be fundraising for is the Prostate Cancer Foundation (NZ).
Prostate Cancer is the second most common cancer in NZ behind skin cancers, and is a real bastard! The foundation does a great job of advocacy and supporting those families going through it. More funding will allow for earlier detection, advanced treatments and more family support.
We are all going to experience Prostate cancer either directly or indirectly in our lives, so rather than burying our heads in the sand about it, get educated and get the gorse out of your pockets! Every year more than 4,000 Kiwi men are diagnosed and around 700 die.
