There are different ways to take part in Highlands Pedal4Prostate
You may like to join or lead a workplace/corporate team and get behind a great cause with your colleagues. Perhaps you’d like to team up with a group of mates you usually ride with, or maybe just tackle Hampton Downs on your own.
Are you a weekend warrior who loves the solitude of the open road, or a passionate recreational cyclist who just wants to make a difference. Group riding is not for everyone, so you are welcome to register as a solo rider.
But don’t worry, you won’t be alone. Team or solo, all our riders receive the same ongoing training, fundraising and event support, from registration to event finish.
If you would like to ride in a team but don’t know other riders let us know and we’ll try and find you a good fit.
Community teams can be any groups of individuals coming together for a common cause. They come in all shapes, sizes and ages, from all walks of life and riding experience. You might form a team that includes your local sports club mates, social cycling buddies, extended families or close friends. The options are endless but the end goal is the same.
Pedal4Prostate has been very fortunate to have teams riding from some of New Zealand’s leading companies that believe in giving back to the community in which they live and work. Often choosing to ride in support of someone they know who has been affected by prostate cancer. While many have a male-dominated workforce female colleagues have been just as keen to hit the track.
Forming a corporate team starts with a simple ask - your workplace may have a cycling group as part of its social wellness programme or simply ask someone to join you.
